A little inside of This Art
In Dun Laoghaire the “Festival of World Culture” took place from 21. to 24. of August 2008. Edgar Müller has followed the invitation and continued his series of large-sized 3D Street Art there. For this year’s Festival of World Cultures renowned German street painting artist Edgar Müller transformed a huge slice of the East Pier into a dramatic ice age scene. This project was supported by the Goethe Institution Germany.

Amazing art work! I’m just sad that it’ll be washed away with the next rain.
March 20th, 2009 at 3:01 pm

Shopped. The shadows and pixels are all wrong.
March 21st, 2009 at 10:37 am
shop police shut the f*ck up its people like you who i wanna beat the shit out of….picture is ill by the way
March 21st, 2009 at 11:37 am
first off no one really cares if its photoshopped; its cool and its art, regardless.
personally, i think that one of the best things about this art form is that it gets washed away.. when the the brevity of something is clear to us, we tend to pay more attention.
love the angling on it.
March 21st, 2009 at 12:42 pm
Actually it isn’t going to washed away with just a rainfall. Where I live in the Pacific Northwest, every fall we have a sidewalk chalk day. It’s now been over 6 months, with heavy snow and rain, and it’s still there! They use a special oil based chalk, that way they are able to blend it and all that, so it withstands much of nature.
March 21st, 2009 at 8:37 pm
actually its not photoshopped, if you were to look at it from any point of view other than the one the pictures were taken from you wouldnt understand what you were seeing, it is alot longer than it appears and would seem streached and not at all 3d from a viewer at any other angle.
March 21st, 2009 at 9:46 pm
Pretty!
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:28 am
This is really awesome! I would like to see this in person for sure.
March 22nd, 2009 at 11:55 am
Do a little research before you cry “shop” next time. I recommend searching for “julian beever” or even “sidewalk art”
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Gaye Thanks for sharing this video. This ends the photoshopped matter.
March 24th, 2009 at 5:43 am
very cool. I cant imagine it from a different angle though…
March 24th, 2009 at 6:08 am
do anybody know ehere is this art piece??? where in the world is it?? what country?? because that is sick
March 24th, 2009 at 9:00 am
This is what I hoped full, a constant changing environment. I like how the pictue is adjusted through the photos, it shows the artist was not on the clock off the clock, but always on.
March 24th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
I love finding sidewalk art on the net.

I think it’s GREAT! I love looking at sidewalk art
This artwork is wonderful to look at wish we had some around here! Great job!!!
March 30th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
This looks shopped.
I can tell by some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.
March 30th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
This is freaking cool!!
March 30th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
The people who call ’shopped’ need to get off the computer and take a look at the real world.
Pixels will get messed up when you enlarge a photograph past it’s point. Look into that, it’s common sense.
March 30th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
Awesome art work!
March 31st, 2009 at 10:35 am
This was painted on the pier in Dun Laoghaire south Co. Dublin in Ireland, during the festival of world cultures. My friend and I saw it a few days after it was painted, and sadly yes, it had faded a bit - but i can assure you it was certainly a traditional effort, no digital wizardry there.
March 31st, 2009 at 10:57 am
Pretty good little perspective there.
Just thinking that the photos of the art would make great wall portraits. Or posters too. It’s nice to trick the eye like that. Keeps folks amazed.
Excellent work by all, including you commentors too.

I think, that this is a real art work and not “shopp”. I’ve seen some of such art works, and they are really cool and really true, not shopped!!!

March 31st, 2009 at 9:56 pm
make this work as the background pic for a car ad to imply the speed. Just imagine a car flying over a canyon LOL…
March 31st, 2009 at 10:07 pm
This is absolutely amazing, but what kind of ruins a bit of it for me is the fact the author is given absolutely no credit whatsoever.
March 31st, 2009 at 11:17 pm

If my incoming emails are any indicator, sidewalk art is rapidly gaining in popularity, and deservedly so. We need more public art especially in these hard economic times. Kudos to all the artists.
